Grace by Gary Snyder (Caitlin McClafferty)
Grace by Gary Snider: Gary Schneider portrays many things throughout his book of poems. A good lesson that I was taught throughout reading them is that a good outcome is nothing without the labor that is put into it. Throughout his book, he makes connections between a person, their decisions, and how it connects to the larger picture of the natural world. Snyder has multiple subjects in the book, but his poems are mostly based on the observations of animals in the wild. He emphasizes the importance of the wilderness and how it connects to the animals and their surroundings. He connects these things to the idea of freedom and how different groups of species are connected and explored in the wilderness. I think that poetry is a very important aspect in life because it can connect us deeper to things we might not fully understand.
